Places I've been.
Places I've been, month by month. Every trip below is rebuilt from the GPS tracks of my own photos.
2025
Egypt
Straight on from Madinah into Egypt: five days built around the Giza plateau and the museums, plus one long day up the desert road to Alexandria and back.
Saudi Arabia
Two weeks for Umrah. In through Jeddah, then the long stretch in Makkah beside the Haram, and finally Madinah before flying on to Cairo.
2024
Malaysia
The last leg of a four-country Southeast Asia run: Kuala Lumpur first, then out to Langkawi for the beaches.
Singapore
A compact stop between Vietnam and Malaysia: the harbour, Changi and the neighbourhoods in between.
Vietnam
Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and the Sa Pa mountains in the north, then down to Da Nang, Hoi An and Ninh Binh.
Thailand
The first leg of the Southeast Asia run: city, coast and islands, with a day out to Phi Phi.
Maldives
Guraidhoo and Maafushi as the base, with Malé, Felidhoo and Hulhumalé around them. Mostly turquoise.
Bangladesh
The world's longest natural sea beach, down the Marine Drive to Teknaf, with the extended family along.
2023
Bangladesh
A southern loop: Khulna as the base, into the Sundarbans mangroves at Karamjal, then on to Kuakata via Barisal.
Bangladesh
Tea country and the haors, right under the Meghalaya hills. Half the photos geotagged themselves to India across the border.
Bangladesh
Up into the Chittagong Hill Tracts: cloud-level mornings in Sajek Valley.
Bangladesh
Out to the country's only coral island via Teknaf, with stops in Cox's Bazar and Chattogram on the way.
2016
Bangladesh
An early trip with friends, and the oldest travel album in the library.
